PAOI pushes for effective import of Southwire SCR
From£ºpaoi   Date£º2007-10-12

With the demand for copper rod in the cable and wire industry increasing at a stable annual rate of 5% to 6%, it necessitates the production of higher quality standard of copper rod. The demand and requirement collectively is a challenge to domestically produced continuous rolling and casting equipment and up-cast equipment that use scrap copper as raw materials. Under such a circumstance and after prudent comparison and market research, Yixing Jiangrun Copper Co., Ltd. (Jiangrun) and Jinchuan Group Ltd. (Jinchuan) have entered into respective contracts with Southwire, a U.S. company represented by us in China.

Jiangrun has imported an SCR7000 copper rod line, with over 300,000 tons annual production capacity whereas Jinchuan has bought an SCR3000, with over 150,000 tons annual production capacity. Both contracts are being executed, and equipment is expected to be put into production in 2008.

In May 2007, Beauty Sun purchased a second hand SCR5200 copper rod line from the U.K. through us that has over 250,000 tons annual production capacity. The line has excellent cost performance.  It has been dismantled in the U.K, and has been scheduled to ship to China in October 2007. This line will bring higher economical benefit, which enables the enterprise to be much more competitive in the copper rod processing industry.

The SCR copper rod system designed and made by Southwire of the U.S, is based on over 50 years of experience of manufacture that aims  for the most ease of operation, with the lowest operational cost, producing copper rod with highest quality. The system is being more and more recognized and welcomed by the Chinese cable and wire industry. As of today, there has been huge demand for technical exchanges from many copper enterprises with Southwire.
